In July of 2003 the Department of Transportation replaced the state mainframe system for vehicle maintenance and inventory management with a software solution from SAP. The current software is SAP ECC 6.0 and the overall project is called the Business Systems Information Portal (BSIP). There are currently over 4500 users from DOT, SHP, and DPI utilizing this system. LEA Transportation Departments in every county utilize BSIP for vehicle records, maintenance scheduling, maintenance and repair records, and inventory management.
